The Fitting Process

Choose Your Team
We recommend discussing clubfitting with your golf professional. Occasionally, club professionals are not too interested in fitting clubs, but most are very willing to help. Take advantage of "Demo Days" at local golf courses and driving ranges. The personnel that the major golf manufacturers send to demo days are generally knowledgeable, experienced and smooth. Resist the temptation to place an immediate order.

If you are within easy driving distance of Palo Alto, California, we can arrange a fitting at a convenient local facility.

It is enlightening to be fitted several times. At least one of us at CalGolfTech has been fitted dozens of times. It's amazing how the recommendations never seem to match. That is why we say its "An Art, not a Science."

If coming to Palo Alto is inconvenient, an option is to seek out a custom clubmaker with computerized equipment near you. We recommend working with a certified Professional Club makers' Society (PCS) member. The PCS website provides a referral service. Go to www.proclubmakers.org. Most independent club makers will supply a fitting utilizing their equipment for a nominal charge. It is worth the investment. The more you know, and the more opinions you hear, the more capable you will be to make the decision yourself.
