Personal Results
Leith Anderson, President of CalGolfTech, has been playing SST PURED ™ shafts (Dynamic, Dynamic Gold, Rifle and finally graphite) for almost three years. In that time, his handicap has come down from a high of eight to a low of just about two last summer. That was his lowest handicap since he played for the Stanford golf team over thirty years ago.

A big part of that improvement was coincidental with moving from steel to graphite shafts in his irons. As a traditionalist, S-400 was his favorite. In the last couple of years, he began to believe that the heavy weight steel shafts were becoming "too hard to handle", especially in the long and middle irons. This evidence added to the perception that graphite shafts in irons were meeting increased acceptance on the Senior Tour. Not only seniors, but also some regular tour players, notably Scott Verplank, appeared to improve after switching to graphite iron shafts. It seemed obvious that something was going on with graphite for irons.

Last summer a highlight round was two under par 70 at the Palo Alto, California Golf Course during the Member Guest Tournament. His 70 was the team best ball score and won low gross against the field. He won the Palo Alto city senior tournament last fall. He hit a personal best 14 greens during a round this February. On March 28, he hit the best three iron of his life. In early May he won the NCGA qualifier at the Palo Alto Club with an even par 72. It wasn't winning the Masters, but the recent successes broke a long dry spell. It's nice to think you can always get better.

Leith has become a "True Believer" in graphite shafts for irons, especially for seniors. Improved quality in graphite manufacturing, together with SST PURE ® technology to overcome the natural inconsistencies of graphite, have "changed the game". It's nice to know that you can still get better at 57.
