Why SST PURE ® Is Important
All golf shafts are imperfect. When fixed in a clamp and oscillated, a typical shaft will vibrate randomly. Testing the same shafts, both SST PURED ™ and "raw" on "Iron Byron" at the Golfsmith testing facility has shown that SST PURED ™ shafts deliver a tighter impact pattern on the clubface. Hitting closer to the center of the clubface, more often, will help you hit more solid shots more consistently. It stands to reason that the more solid shot, the better the shot. The results of the Golfsmith testing and the raw data is available on this website.

Only the SST PURE ® technology measures the roundness, stiffness, and straightness of a shaft. Only SST PURE ® technology finds the hard side, the soft side, the thick side and the thin side of a shaft. Only SST PURE ® technology takes all of the imperfections of a golf shaft into account to find the best possible alignment to produce consistent results.

We are frequently asked about increased distance, the Holy Grail for all golfers. The Puring process, by itself, will not make you hit longer shots. There are three variables which could indeed lead to more distance. One, hit the ball closer to the center of the clubface. Two and three, a SST PURED ™ will feel more stable so you might be able to hit a more flexible or longer shaft. Those factors will add distance.

Every shaft tested and marked on the SST PURE ® machine receives a computerized report. The report shows the "before" and "after" readings in vertical and horizontal frequencies and shaft tip deviation. Most interesting is the digital tracing of the oscillation pattern of the tip in "before" and "after" orientations.

That's as close as you get to proof in the golf industry.
